Owners on the luxury Huerta Nueva urbanisation get cleaning

Owners of the Huerta Nueva urbanisation opposite the village of Los Gallardos had a busy Saturday last week as they organised a clean-up of the main entrances to their community.

Residents say that despite years of promises from the local council to offer “the same services the town of Los Gallardos has” it is rare to see any council staff working on-site.

Organiser Mel Parker said: “It is possibly the worst entrance to a multi-million euro development in Almería. ”

Mr Parker claimed that when British TV show ‘A place in the Sun’ came to film on-site, the director told him that they could not shoot footage of the drive into the urbanisation as it was “too scruffy for TV”.
