Owner accused of feeding dogs diseased chickens amid claims animals fight to death in squalid conditions

A kennel for hunting dogs outside Húercal-Overa was the scene of a bitter protest between dog lovers and its owner last Wednesday (April 19).

The protest attracted several British and Spanish families who want to improve the conditions for the affected animals.

Protest organiser Kerry Matthews said: “The dogs have no life. They are in one-square metre pens with no light and no windows. There are more than 60 of them in a small building, breeding and constantly fighting.
