A protest against intensive farming practices in Spain was held in the small village of Noviercas in the province of Soria at the weekend, where there are plans to construct the ‘largest dairy farm in Europe’.
Known as ‘macrogranjas’, these industrial farms have been in the spotlight in recent years over concerns that they pollute subterranean aquifers and emit harmful gasses.
