A €1 million project to install 1,364 solar panels on the roofs of the eight primary schools in Benidorm and other public buildings has been completed.
A town hall spokesman revealed that half of the budget for the scheme has come from the European Union.
He explained that the initiative will bring a ‘large saving on electricity bills’ and a big reduction in carbon dioxide emissions.
