Almost 2,500 sea cucumbers which had been illegally fished in waters off Santa Pola have been returned to the sea by the Guardia Civil and the municipality’s museum of the sea.
These animals were seized from four men, who were reported for catching this species in a restricted area and not having a licence, according to a Guardia Civil spokesman.
