The first surgical operation to be carried out using a new ‘Hugo’ robot in the Valencia region was performed at Elche general hospital last week.
The Hugo RAS system, provided by the regional health department at a cost of over €2.3 million, uses artificial intelligence and is for a wide range of minimally invasive general surgery, urology and gynaecology procedures, hospital sources explained.
