Park bird population ‘highest since 1980s’

The highest number of breeding pairs of nesting birds since the 1980s was recorded at El Hondo natural park in 2022.

There was a total of 6,749 pairs of 33 different species, including 35 of the marbled teal, the highest population of this species in danger of extinction in the EU.
