The women’s world handball championship – which is taking place in Torrevieja, as well as Castellón, Llíria and Granollers – will generate €3 million for Alicante province, according to provincial president Carlos Mazón.
The event, featuring 32 teams, runs from December 1 to 19 in Spain.
