The fire service reported that they rescued two dogs which had ended up in a rocky area of the Sierra de Bèrnia.
A team from the Benidorm station went to the aid of the hapless hounds on Saturday.
The dogs were trapped at a rock wall on the southern face of the mountain, which lies in Altea, a spokesman for the provincial fire brigade explained.
