2023 was a hot and dry taste of things to come

An ‘extremely hot and dry’ year in the Valencia region is forecast to end with the third driest trimester in a century and a half, according to state weather agency Aemet.

The average temperature for 2023 was 1.4ºC higher than normal and there was 33% less precipitation.

The forecast is for temperatures to be ‘above normal’ this winter.
