Opposition party Somos Mojacar has lodged objections to Mojacar council’s recently announced by-laws restricting “anti-social behaviour” in the town.
The party, led by British councillor Jessica Simpson, believes the new laws will have “a negative effect on the future of Mojacar’s tourism” as well as “infringe human rights and civil liberties”.
The by-laws, approved at a council meeting at the start of December, ban the wearing of swimming costumes in the street and “offensive” fancy dress, as well as prohibiting nudism, begging, street selling and kerb crawling.
