The number of passengers using Almería city airport rose steeply in August, according to the latest Government figures.
A total of 136,234 passengers used the airport, representing a 16.3 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.
Of these, 111,346 passengers travelled on international flights, representing 82.2 per cent of the total, with only 24,107 on domestic flights.
Most of the passengers on international flights came from the UK, followed by Belgium. However, there was a marked increase in the number of travellers from Denmark and Germany (up by 64 per cent).
