A 23-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash in Almería city at the weekend after a woman died and four people – including her one-year-old baby – were injured.
The incident happened on Sunday morning (January 8) on Federico García Lorca avenue, when a black BMW X5 jumped a number of traffic lights before smashing at high speed into a car containing the 36-year-old female victim, her husband, and the couple’s child.
The BMW came to a halt after ramming a second vehicle – a parked car – and the driver fled the scene on foot, although he was arrested hours later after a major police operation.
