A 37-year-old British man has been arrested on suspicion of growing cannabis plants in a country farm in Mojacar.
Guardia Civil agents raided the ‘cortijo’, located in the neighbourhood of ‘Barranco Las Pepas’, last week. They seized a total of 14 cannabis plants, a small quantity of hash and pesticides used to help the plants grow.
The Guardia were tipped off by neighbours who were alerted by the “bad smell” emanating from the plants, although the cannabis had been planted together with other native plants to prevent detection.
