Peter Kosminsky, director of the award winning Wolf Hall series, has chosen Almería as the backdrop for his new BBC feature film.

The script for ‘Children of the Siege’ was penned by Mr Kosminsky more than 30 years ago and he has now turned it into a feature film for the BBC. His team of more than 150 professionals will be based in Adra for the month of October, and have hired a further 70 extras.

The film is based on the real life story of nurse Pauline Cutting, who made a cry for help on the BBC world service from the besieged Bourj al-Barajneh camp outside Beirut in 1986.
