Sexual health law guarantees right to abortion

The government has reformed the 2010 law on sexual and reproductive health to ‘guarantee and increase’ rights, and remove obstacles that were preventing some women from exercising their right to an abortion.

For the first time, the right to menstrual health is enshrined, including regulations for paid sick leave for those women who have ‘painful and incapacitating periods’.
