Rojales-raised footballing prodigy Xavi Simons, who is currently in Qatar as part of the Netherlands World Cup squad, has now had the municipal football ground named after him.
The full council meeting approved a motion for the artificial grass pitch to be officially called the ‘Campo Municipal de Fútbol Xavi Simons’.
