Restoring trails to help save the Mar Menor

A plan to restore livestock trails in order to establish an ecological corridor around the Mar Menor basin has been announced by Murcia regional government.

These trails, which are public rights of way, would act as natural filters and retain water when there are episodes of intense rainfall.

They also maintain connectivity between the various natural environments of the lagoon and its surrounding areas.
