Elche mayor Carlos González visited Alicante-Elche airport yesterday (Monday) and declared that it was ‘functioning 100 per cent’.
The airport – which stands in Elche municipality at El Altet – had been closed on two occasions this month following the fire in the roof of the terminal building and then due to adverse weather associated with Storm Gloria.
