Spain has revised the total of deaths of patients with Covid-19.

According to government coronavirus spokesman Fernando Simón, the figure is 26,834 and not the previous reported number of 28,572.

He explained this evening that the improvement in the situation of the pandemic had allowed the figures to be checked – and duplications have been removed, along with cases which were not confirmed as coronavirus.

The new statistics show there have only been 50 deaths with coronavirus in the last seven days.

According to the health ministry, 132 new cases of coronavirus have come to light in the last 24 hours.
