As readers may know, I present rather a lot of wine tastings. I love them!
It’s a chance to further champion the wonderful wines of our adoptive country (you have fallen out with us all, have you Spain?) as well as pairing them with Spanish food, and with the cuisine of different nationalities. Also, with Soprano and Flautist Claire Harkness-Post, and with Dolce Divas, I’ve also had the great pleasure of presenting wine and classical music pairing evenings. It’s all great fun, but it’s almost always in English!
So, although something of a challenge for me, I was doubly delighted to be asked recently to present a wine-tasting with tapas by a group of Spanish and Venezuelan friends. Our friend Maru was the link and it seemed there was significant interest amongst her Venezuelan countrymen (and women!) as well has her Spanish friends. So after a weekend of brushing up my Spanish, I arrived at Jávea Spanish wines – and notes, in tow!
