Fuengirola’s town hall announced last week that the skate park next to the Miramar shopping centre is to undergo a name change in honour of Ignacio Echeverría, the ‘skateboard hero’ who died trying to fend off terrorists with his board during the London Bridge attack on June 3. Mayor Ana Mula said the courage shown by Echeverría “deserves our absolute recognition”, with the name giving the park a “special meaning”.
