Termites are reported to be responsible for delaying the €220,200 project to redevelop Vélez-Málaga’s old railway station at the terminus of the tramway. It was halted when it was discovered repairing damage caused by the insects to wooden beams would push it over budget. The plan is to create a waiting room, café and toilets for bus station passengers.
