Tráfico says that almost 32,000 drivers were caught speeding in one week last month. Over 581,000 vehicles were stopped by Guardia Civil officers during a safety campaign between April 17 and 23, with four drivers found to be over 80 kph in excess of the speed limit. Tráfico explained that a high percentage of accidents are recorded on secondary roads, rather than on motorways.
