Municipal workers in Nerja have removed almost 2,000 kilos of rubbish from the town’s coastal footpath which is supposedly closed to the public. They spent Monday cleaning the western end of the Paseo de los Carabineros between Carabeillo and Calahonda beaches. The pathway has been closed since 2001 over fears of rock falls from the cliffs which tower over it.
