Police in Madrid smashed their way into a car parked at a shopping centre on Saturday to rescue a two-year-old girl inside. The temperature outside had reached 40ºc after the child’s mother and grandmother had reportedly left her alone for an hour while they went shopping. The youngster was dizzy, disoriented and dehydrated, but survived, while her mother was detained for abandoning a child.
