Threatened strike action could impact city's popular Semana Santa

The city of Málaga remains under threat of an all-out strike by refuse collectors and other workers starting on Tuesday, March 1. The Málaga Law Association has offered to act as mediator between the two sides in an effort to avoid the dispute impinging on tourism prospects for Easter week.

Last Friday’s meeting between the town hall and representatives of Limasa, the municipal cleaning company, failed to agree on minimum service levels to be observed during a stoppage and these will now be defined by the regional government.
