A controlled burn of 10 hectares of canes was carried out in El Hondo natural park on Tuesday by the regional government.
Director general for prevention of forest fires, Francisco Aparisi said: “We are carrying out various lines of research and implementing resources and infrastructure to improve prevention of forest fires, such as using a prescribed burn now, a technique which is very advanced in other regions of the world, but is quite innovative and incipient in our land.”
