A SPECIAL squad of the National Police in Málaga province last year rooted out over €90 million in assets of criminals, much of which was seized, frozen or embargoed.

The specialist unit delves through documentation, performs analyses and cooperates with authorities in other countries in an effort to track down assets that, especially in the case of organised crime groups, may be hidden in a morass of shell companies or investments through third parties.
