METEOROLOGISTS are forecasting ‘gota fría’ (cut-off low) torrential downpours along the Costa Blanca this weekend and at the beginning of next week – with rainfall expected to reach up to 200 litres per square metre in the Marina Alta area.
They have warned that this could lead to a ‘complicated situation’ in the area.
Weatherman from Alicante University’s climatology lab Samuel Biener told Costa Blanca News that precipitation will be widespread, ‘although it will rain more heavily in some areas than others’.
