Torremolinos’s Patronato de Deportes sports department has suspended a worker and opened an investigation into possible misappropriation of funds after he was found to have processed nearly 1,000 cash refunds for membership fees totalling over €41,000 since 2012, without authorisation and with no customer receipts of the transactions. The worker is also vice-secretary of communications for the local Partido Popular party.
