Torre del Mar has registered the phrase “Playas 5 Espetos” with the Spanish Office of Patents and Trademarks. The town says it will be used to promote its 22 kilometres of beaches (Playas) and the barbequed sardines (Espetos) which are typical of the area. Tourism councillor Jesús Pérez said last week that Torre del Mar has exclusive use of the phrase until 2026.
