Bringing in five private contractors to clear the streets of Málaga during the recent 11-day strike by municipal cleansing workers will be paid for by savings made during the stoppage. The town hall says that, up to last Friday, the total cost was around €98,000. However, this approximates to the payroll savings made from not paying workers for days on which they stopped work.
