A 34-year-old Romanian woman and her six-month-old baby are serious but out of danger after falling 50 metres at the castle in Denía on Saturday. They were taken to hospital suffering from fractures and bruising. Police in Alicante investigating the cause of the incident say their fall was broken by a metal mesh which protects against rock falls.
