FORMER Catalan vice-president Oriol Junqueras last week failed in his bid to be released from prison on bail while investigations into the region’s illegal independence referendum continue.
Three Supreme Court judges rejected his appeal on Friday because, they explained in a written ruling, “there is no relevant evidence to seriously suggest that the appellant has abandoned his attempt to achieve independence of Cataluña through a unilateral declaration.”
