THE FIRST cases of coronavirus in Alicante province were reported on Wednesday.
Regional councillor for health Ana Barceló stated that three people had tested positive.
Sra Barceló said the patients are a businessman who travelled to the north of Italy who was tested at Orihuela’s Vega Baja hospital and a woman who visited ‘the risk zones’ in Italy who was tested at San Juan hospital. The third patient, tested at Alicante general hospital, was described as a ‘young person who had not travelled to the risk zones in Italy, but who mixed with people who had’.
The three patients are reported to have mild (non-serious) symptoms.
