A 27-year-old Moroccan man charged in connection with a spate of burglaries in Vera Playa and Palomares was in the country illegally and had a deportation order served against him, the Guardia Civil revealed this week.

The man, who targeted mostly holiday homes, was found to have no passport or any ID save for a health card when he was arrested.

CA News can reveal that the Guardia believe he may have also been responsible for breaking into a property owned by expat couple Tony and Lynne Unwin in May, as reported by this paper in June.
