Almería’s main football stadium was turned into a noisy party for doctors – and now police are investigating whether it was properly hired for the event

Police were forced to close down the annual summer ball of the provincial guild of medics which was held at Almería’s Mediterranean Games football stadium after dozens of complaints were filed by neighbours about the noise.

Now investigators say they are concerned that the event was held without a permit being issued by the city council.

An official investigation into an alleged charge of “unauthorised use of municipal installations” has been opened and a subpoena for documentation lodged with the city’s sports department, in charge of the stadium.

Both the city council and the guild of medics deny the charge.
