Spain’s opposition socialists have proposed that it should be illegal for women to be paid less than men doing the same work. The PSOE’s equality secretary Carmen Calvo said on Monday they will propose a law which could see offending employers fined up to 1.3% of the payroll. She added the legislation would apply equally to full and part-time workers.
