The incident happened in the middle of Almería city

A driver who raced across the streets of Almería city with his young grand-daughter on board has been charged with reckless driving and assault after he punched and kicked the arresting officers.

The incident happened last week (December 28), when members of the public alerted police that a car had been spotted being driven erratically and jumping a number of traffic lights – and that a child was sitting in the front seat without a safety restraint.

Police were able to intercept the vehicle at a nearby street after blocking the road. According to a police statement, the man then got out of his car and lunged at officers with the girl in his arms, shouting insults at them before punching one policeman in the face.
