THE REGIONAL health department has announced it has an effective plan in place to prevent the spread of the Zika virus throughout the Costa.
A spokesman said that the plan has two aims, the first of which is increased vigilance that will allow for the early detection of the virus especially in people returning from countries where it is endemic.
The second is to monitor and control the mosquitos that transmit the virus.
