Volunteers from pet rescue society Asoka El Grande have said they are fighting to continue running Orihuela’s dog pound at San Bartolomé.
The service was put out to tender and Asoka’s bid achieved more points than that of a private company but Asoka was not awarded the contract due to missing paperwork.
