Theresa May announces plans for snap general election

British PM Theresa May has announced plans to call a snap general election on June 8 due to ‘national interest’. The PM said that following the referendum Britian now needs ‘certainty, stability and strong leadership’.
Regarding Brexit, she went on to say: “The country is coming together but Westminster is not.”
The plan will be voted in the House of Commons tomorrow (Wednesday).
