A British schoolteacher accused of sexually abusing an under-age female pupil in Roquetas de Mar has been released on bail, reports say.

Father-of-two Carlo Troiano, 40, was teaching at the privately-run St George’s British School until his arrest in November 2016 after the girl’s mother accused him of having a nine-month affair with her 15-year-old daughter.

Troiano, who began teaching at the school in September 2014, spent 13 months in prison on remand at the El Acebuche prison before being released on bail on December 22.
