Protesters against the proposed Mojacar promenade extension have fired another shot across council bows, alleging the project does not comply with economic laws.
They claim the planned extension will “disproportionately affect” beach bars in its path, after receiving advice from the ministry for the economy that the project “should comply” with the single market guarantee law (LGUM) principles of “necessity and proportionality”.
Mojacar mayor Rosa María Cano roundly dismissed the claims however, saying if anything the new promenade would “improve” business for the bars.
