The Supreme penal court has upheld a sentence barring the ex-mayor of Arboleas, Ángel García (PSOE), from holding public office for four years.
The ruling comes after an investigation into the illegal sale of public land to the mayor, then only the deputy mayor, so he could build a private swimming pool next to his home. The ruling also confirms the sentences for other councillors and civil servants who served under the mayor.
