The Melia hotel in Benidorm was a hive of activity on Friday morning as eager residents queued for the casting session for the forthcoming Benidorm 9 series.
The ‘Mediterranea-Audicion’ agency are once again co-ordinating the recruitment and Javier was on hand to over see the day. He has already had over 250 emails from people who have previously taken part and so were not required to turn up again – mostly to jog his memory to remind him that they are still here and available for this new series

Hi Caroline, this story is from 2016 and the TV series Benidorm is no longer being made. I should also point out that we are a newspaper and do not make this TV programme or any other, we were merely reporting the casting call from the ‘Mediterranea-Audicion’ agency at that time.
