Province attracted more than seven million visitors and total economic impact topped €7bn

MÁLAGA province posted record tourism figures this summer, with 7,050,000 visitors and a total economic impact of over €7 billion, according to figures presented last week by the Diputación de Málaga’s tourism board, Turismo Costa del Sol.

The number of tourists was up by 350,000 compared to last summer, while the economic impact saw a boost of €459 million to a total of €7.15 billion. At Málaga airport, arrivals were up 11.6% to 4,118,000, with Britons making up the biggest number of foreigners, at 1.4 million.
