THE Valencian town of Buñol has had to defend itself after being taken to task by Nigeria.

Every August, the town holds its famous Tomatina festival during which the world’s biggest food fight results in hundreds of revellers hurling tomatoes at one another.  However, the event is not regarded as fun in Nigeria where a state of emergency has been declared in the tomato sector.
