Officials in 2014 announced they had reached an agreement to relaunch work - but it remained stalled

MARBELLA town hall last week sharply criticised the Junta de Andalucía over the long-stalled project to enlarge the Costa del Sol hospital, after Junta officials announced plans to build a new hospital in Málaga city.

“We are very pleased that Málaga can have the new hospital that it so needs, but it is a disgrace that the Junta makes these promises when for seven years it has left the Costa del Sol hospital works abandoned,” said councillor and town hall spokesperson Félix Romero.
